Atelierul de Grafica
This land of all possibilities, particularly the town of Bucharest full of stinky colours, shows up with two paradoxical but permanent situations: there is no money for patrimony, restoration projects, recovery programs for streets and houses once beautiful and full of history; and the other one - plenty of money for new villas, bank offices, orthodox temples, new squares with bronze violins and other useless monuments, all here in Small Paris. Therefore we ask, in the manner of a similarly small Hamlet: to be or not to be financed?
Initiated by the French photographer Ferrante Ferranti, astonished by the complete lack of interest for the looks of this city and what it has become, the exhibition Bucarest, la mal-aimee brings together some pieces and wounds of a dying Bucharest, in form of photographs taken by 10 artists. More or less full of poetry or pragmatism, this pictures are worth being seen. Equally interesting is the building - the beautiful Kalinderu Museum. Classical as well as modern, it is a perfect illustration of the condition of patrimony architecture in this capital. For further details (in French), please visit The French Institute website.
Open until November 1st. The exhibition poster is to be mentioned, though the title, due to the colour combination, is not so easy to read; and the flyer shows the same image but no other information.
