Vladimir Zamfirescu - painting exhibition, Dalles hall, June-July 2009

You can find on the web lots of information about the painter Vladimir Zamfirescu. We will not repeat here any of it. What we want to say is that by visiting the exhibition you get that feeling which doesn′t happen often to us. Sadness and bliss at once. We feel how the world stands on the shoulders of a few people, like those stones at Stonehenge stand. They bring balance to the world. They do not exist to create contrasts, but to deliver us from the ugliness inside and around us. Their presence pulls us onward and stops us from leaving the country.
You must see this exibition! It fits in any important museum of this world, and in our country something like this happens so rarely.

The exhibition will end on July 15th. You can visit it from Wednesday to Sunday between 10am-6pm. The poster isn′t worth mentioning. Instead of an exhibition catalogue, the artist′s recent album was available at the opening. The book was first published in 2006 by the Romanian Cultural Institute and another edition of 1000 copies was printed in 2008. Beautifully bound in canvas, with an elegant emboss, the album has a good proportion and a suitable typeface. The entire graphic concept is coherent.
